Offshore Structures under Random Wave Loading

As Group Leader in Offshore Research for Shell Exploration and Production, Bert Brouwers was responsible for developing mathematical tools to describe the response of marine structures subject to random wave loading. He derived solutions in closed form for previously unsolved problems of non-Gaussian behavior due to non-linear physical and mechanical phenomena. Results were incorporated in design codes of offshore structures for oil and gas production.
